Wada Kouji puts Career on Hold

Normally I try and only post positive news, but this is relevant to all of us who are fans of Digimon and Wada Kouji.

Wada Kouji has put his career on hold due to cancer.

He had put his career on hold almost a decade ago due an illness he declined to comment on at the time.

I'll just link to ANN since they have all the details and everyone can read the details there.

Best of luck to this guy and I hope he gets better. He literally rocks! This is very disappointing news as it might mean he is missing from Hunters.

I'd say it almost definitely means he's not contributing to Hunters. It's probably why Yoffy is throwing in for the lead character's battle song, in fact.

That article makes me think, though; it notes that the last time he had to deal with this was eight years ago. That'd be 2003, back when Frontier was wrapping and done. Which means he went right off of any of the last songs he did for Frontier into all of that.

It makes me think; could that be a reason why we didn't see him singing anything until the later half of Savers in 2006? That could very well be about the time he decided he would/could come back.

Of course, I don't want to be callous - those things don't matter as much as the man's health, and as someone who's helped provide a lot of enjoyment to me over the years, as an important part of a franchise I hold dear, and just as another human being I wish him the best.

So, here's hoping for him.

Aah! Days after Wada Kouji reveals this, Steve Jobs dies...

Goddamn it, cancer.
