New Game- Digimon World: Digitize for the PSP

Looks like next year the PSP will be getting a Digimon game.

Few details are known thus but...

Main character has an Agumon.

Character design will be from Suzuhito Yasuda, who did the designs for Durarara and wrote and drew Yozakura Quartet.

The game will take place both in the Digital World and the Real World (is this the first game that the real world will be a major part of the game? I know it was in a few games for a bit, but it appears this time it will be part of the story.

And unlike all the recent Digimon Story titles, it appears battles will be fully animated (which hopefully means they are finally dumping the ancient Digimon Story engine.)

Edit- Some new info. It will be called Digimon World Re:Digitize. And thanks to an early V-Jump scan we have confirmation that it will not just be a PSP game with the Digimon Story engine. The engine looks quite nice...

Considering that I've always wanted an Urban-setting Digimon, color me excited.

YES! Can't wait for this, gives me a reason to use my PSP.  ;D Though I am getting tired of the Agumon/Dragon lines.....oh well, we can get past that.

*Dies for the excitement*

this could represent a favorable policy sift at namco bandai for us. the PSP is a powerful machine even if it is old its still not far from the 3ds. the urban setting is a good thing as "real world" digimon stuff has always been a bit deeper then the fantasy setting. until know the only real attempt at using video games for story telling has be the ryo series and another mission. But i don't think the psp would have been chosen if they didn't intend to do some writing. I don't know how popular xros wars has been but I lost interest fairly quickly and faded out and it didn't SEEM like it got the same response that savers got. could this game represent another attempt to revitalize the series? the original digimon story was very popular and along with savers rebooted the franchise from two ends. lost evolution and xros wars attempted the same thing. could this mean namco is going to try once more (another season and a game?) digimon world 1 and 3 are very popular on download sites and the psp homebrew community, implying old digimon fans own the system, could Namco bandai be targeting them? at the very lest we will have somthing substantially to look forward to in 2012 (as opposed to just championship when savers ended).

Finally something on the PSP, hopefully the dullness will change along with it. (personal opinion). Hope it isn't turn-based, but since it says RPG...

Actually, I think Xros Wars is doing much better than Frontier and Savers did. As for the Ryo games, pretty much all of their storytelling came at the very beginning and end of the game. Digimon World 2 and 3, Digimon Story, Sunburst and Moonlight have all had pretty engaging storylines.

I think in Digimon World 3 there were several large areas of the game set in the Real World, but the vast majority of the game was still based in the Digital World.
