It sure as heck looks pretty decent. I'm thinking of importing it if i can, just need to get my multi-dvd working again properly >_>
It's a good review, not that i expect nothing less for that! Pics look impressive.

I'm surprised the video quality is as good as it is, honestly. I've had it preordered anyway, but it's nice to know that when it gets here, it'll be nicer than I expected. Great review, thanks. :3

I had honestly expecting 'watchable' being best case scenario.

Already preordered through Amazon, arrival date on my front porch on the 28th. ;D
Miraculous that the quality will be as high as it is, I was honestly expecting the usual Toei USA garbage-prints on most of their DVDs! (But it seems everyone else was too) Now let's all buy one so we can get Collections 2, 3 and 4!

I managed to pick this up, the last copy they had at my local Wal Mart. At $20 it was a steal, IMO.
I had seen a few episodes of the sub before and steered clear of the dub up to this point. After watching the first few episodes in English I decided that if you can survive the first ten minutes, then the show is worth the watch. Marcus was the only voice that dragged on me, mainly because he sounded pretty high pitched. After I got used to that, the dub wasn't so bad anymore. I noticed a few things that reminded me of Adventure and Tamers which made me kinda giddy considering I was appalled at the decision to change the art style. Although the theme song leaves something to be desired... If anything, its worth picking up to support not only the rest of the series being released on DVD, but maybe the other seasons. I found that supporting the VAs careers couldnt hurt, either. ;)

I did the same as you and It came TODAY!!!! ^_^ Hopefully I'll watch it later tonight. I've seen some episodes on Jetix on DirecTV at a relatives house (since my home has no cable or satellite tv) but I'll finally get to finally see what I've been missing out.

If I've know that Wal*Mart would have it in stores at the same price as they do on the website I would've cancelled my Amazon.com order but since it had arrived at my house I've been thinking, "f*** that" it was just $7 to $8 shipping.
^_^ For those who have bought recently, enjoy viewing! |
