Digimon Adventure 02 Screening at Anime Expo 08 Report
From my reporter on the scene earlier today, we have some info from GaomonFan which I have typed up for everyone.
They did indeed show 02 in Japanese, raw, at the con.
It appears it was just literally the first disk of late 2006s 02 boxset (hopefully that's what they are using for video quality.) (He turned away to check his phone when the menu was onscreen, so we aren't 100% sure it was the recent DVD, but he saw the Happinet logo, so yeah)
Apparently there were also Digimon cosplayers on the scene also, so hopefully someone took pictures.
No one from Toei USA was at the screening to explain any intent for Digimon in Japanese in the USA.
WtW's reporter on the scene will be back with more information tomorrow, hopefully after asking Toei politely (or hassling, I'm not there, I can't control him).

not to sond like an idiot but i don't understand what this means their showing 02 episodes in japanese which is cool but i don't get the signifigance of it. im sure their is somthing i just don't get it.

First (that we are aware of) showing of Digimon legally outside of Japan, uncut, pure raw goodness. That pushes my buttons that's for sure.

It is the first legal showing of non dubbed Digimon outside of Japan I think, since every counties showing of Digimon was dubbed in the local language.
At 'worst', first Japanese showing in an English speaking country that I know about.
