Xros USA Thread, Updated with Trailer

Was gonna wait until I had more information, but at least one actor has spoken up about trying out for Xros Wars dubbed.

The dub is being done at Studiopolis. It's in the midst of casting, and the WWP pilot stuff has been tossed out (as was always the assumption.)

Rising Sun Tokusatsu noticed Ben Diskin mentioning he tried out for it.

Based on info from Diskin, it appears the names are being changed for the dub, but not the names WWP used. Taiki's name is similiar (off by one consonant apparently.) According to Diskin the term will still be DigiXros (although based on the way this stuff is done, that may be an early script.)

As for who has licensed it... that information is to come later.

Edit- Due to a few things being said less than privately...I can go ahead and say who the company is now... Saban Brands.

The first dubbed season will be 30 episodes.

Saban's longtime composer Noam Kaniel will be composing music for the series.

Edit 2- Saban Brands has confirmed they have it and it will be dubbed under the title Digimon Fusion, they've also confirmed they have the old seasons.

Edit 3- Here is the logo (thanks to BSCKids) Love that classic font...

Edit 4- Marvista put up their marketing trailer for the series

Fusion Marketing Trailer

The marketing trailer confirms a few details including Taiki's name being changed to Mikey, the term will be kept as DigiXros, and a few inter-spliced clips of Hunters seems to confirm they have that also. Try and guess the cast in the trailer...

New Digimon MMO, Digimon Masters

Via a press release Wemade has announced that they have yet another Digimon MMO coming out by the end of December: Digimon Masters.

This is the Savers/Data Squad based MMO that Digitalic released in Korea a year ago, so we are getting this one quite a bit more up to date than we did Digimon Battle.

What, if anything this means for Digimon Battle, which only came out in the USA nearly half a year ago is currently unknown.

Here's a screenshot from the Korean version.

Looks far more enjoyable than Digimon Battle to me to be honest.

It appears an official Facebook for the game with more screenshots (also from the Korean version) has already been opened. Digimon Masters Facebook [edit- wrong url was up before]

Data Squad DVDs Change to Singles?

Based on a new listing at Right Stuf Data Squad may switch to five episode singles.

The second boxset was scheduled to come out about a month from now and had been solicited for awhile.

The new soliciation is for a week after the original release, but rather than a volume/collection name it has a title after the episode "Wild Boy of the Digital World."

The list price is the same (although Well Go's prior Digimon box was easily findable for under $20 by quite a bit) but instead the time listed seems to suggest five episodes.

It's worth noting that so far the second quarter series collection hasn't been canceled yet.

No doubt we will hear more of this as we get closer to the scheduled release dates.

New North American Licensing Agent for Digimon

This had actually been discovered earlier this year, but it was decided best to hold off on posting news of it until we knew what may or may not be going on with a new series.

Earlier this year Toei signed a new licensing agent for Digimon in North America, but it also includes the seasons licensed prior by Saban/Disney. This suggests that Disney no longer holds the merchandising rights for those four series, and may not hold any rights for them anymore at all.

With the new series largely confirmed it suggests we may get this new series sooner rather than later with Toei seemingly starting the product licensing process far earlier than they did with Savers/Data Squad in the USA.

Perhaps the biggest shock is that it appears Toei Japan is dealing with the licensing agent directly, leaving Toei USA out of the process entirely, which may or may not suggest any number of things.

New Album- Digimon History 1999-2006 All The Best

Thanks to jp for confirming information that I got a week or so ago (I had been looking, but no dice.)

Digimon History 1999-2006 All The Best will be a 2 disk 'best of' for the period between Adventure starting and Savers ending. It'll contain all the intros, outros, and insert songs from well... the time period in the title of the album.

It'll be 3400 yen and come out on January 1st, 2010 (and yes, from looking around, that appears to be the real date, and not a stand in.) NECA-30257 is the catalog number so everyone can track it down at their favorite online stores.

Once there's more info it'll be posted.

A nice way for Digimon fans to start off the year, hopefully it won't be the only thing we get.
